Yencken Residence, Sunshine Beach Queensland

The site was challenging located in close proximity to the ocean and in a sand dune protection zone.  The design and detailing required extensive research into suitable building materials and construction systems that included:

• Marine grade stainless steel handrail, gutters, downpipes and fitting where available
• Hot dip galvanising and special paint system for all exposed mild steel
• Marine grade anodising for windows and doors
• IP rated light fittings to limit moisture ingress
• Colorbond ‘Ultra’ roof cladding
• External timbers selected for best performance in a marine environment
